I understand what steam is trying to do. Pays in different countries varies. It's already unfair that for example in Germany people earn 3000 euro a month and in Poland they earn 3000pln (Even less for big part of people). Games prices are still the same. 60 euro in germany is a small price for pleasure, they can spend it and not be bothered by it, but in Poland it's 250 for a game, so picking a game isn't just about pleasure but you need to think whether you will be playing game, when you will be able to buy another game etc. Steam's regional block is good because it considers that but not for all games sadly.

"Efficiency" is not only power efficiency but also "space efficiency", they might have like 50% of the IPC/performance but if they only take 30% of the area, then you would much rather have 8 of these cores compared to like 3 "high perf cores". Really the kicker is that most workloads which depend on "few fast cores" don't really use more than 8, and the workloads that tend to scale well beyond 8 cores (rendering) would enjoy 16 even better. Really its the best of both worlds. Keep enough high performance cores to keep general performance up, and cram in enough area efficient cores to keep up with (or exceed) traditional 12 core offerings in highly threaded workloads. Not to mention the huge potential in mobile. I actually want to see an even more extreme approach. Have 4 HUGE cores with tons of cache and execution and built to run at super high clocks, along with 4 "normal cores", then 8 "area efficient cores". All that's left is the windows (and linux) x86 compilers and schedulers to start to be aware of non-uniform core capabilities.

I liked what LG was doing with the G2, G3, and G4 phones, but the G4 bootlooping issue really tarnished their brand. After that, I think they needed to provide value for money, but they insisted on flagship pricing despite the perception of the brand being below Samsung. On top of that, LG was inconsistent with their designs. The G3 and G4 designs were a nice alternative to other phones. Then they made a big change to the G5, and another big change for the G6. There wasn't a strong brand identity anymore. Maybe what I wanted to see them do wouldn't have worked either, but what they did do is a plan I always expected to fail.

i've used LG phones ONLY ever since before the LG G. i did skip a generation or two every now and then, but still. G, G2, G3, G6 and now G8s. but what am i gonna buy if they stop making phones? Samsung? but samsung phones are literally crap. Iphone? to me iphones are the same as the fake phone toys you'd give a toddler. it plays music if you tap the screen. some weird chinese huawei, honor, or any other brand? i dont know. google pixel? at this rate i'll end up with a ROG phone lol
